Soft seating and layered textiles create a relaxed coastal base, with a sculptural coffee table adding a little city character.

The story

An inviting home for slowing down, spending time together and working by the coast.

DesignShanly Simpson

The brief combined the comfort of beachside living with a touch of city style. The rooms needed to feel relaxing, while also making space for working from home.

Shanly brought together comfortable sofas, cushions, throws and rugs in a calm palette. Timeless art and accessories sit alongside faux orchids and plants, adding interest without overwhelming the spaces.

A simple mix of pale bedding, dark cushions and soft texture makes the bedroom feel restful without losing personality.
Omaha coastal home framed by mature planting and blue sky.
Mature planting frames the home, setting the scene for the relaxed coastal spaces within.

An easy rhythm.

Sculptural tables and layered textiles give the living room its character. A dedicated work setting and a restful bedroom carry the same warm, considered approach through the home.
